This was better than last issue. I will give it that. The scenes with Tony and the scenes with Thor and Odin were well done, and made me want to see what happens to them next.

The problem, I find, is that Matt Fraction, a writer I do really respect and enjoy, can’t write Steve Rogers well. Like at all. The character’s voice is just off, coming off as arrogant, nihilstic and even (oddly enough) throwing in a bad one-liner at the end. That coupled with a rather pointless scene with Spider-Man, my feelings on this issue kept yo-yoing up and down.

I think there’s a good story here, but Fraction has kind of lost sight of it. Rather than looking forward to the conclusion of the series I’m instead just looking forward to it being finished.

Story: 2 - Average
Art: 4 - Very Good
