This issue ends with a panel drawn by Stuart Immonen of Thor attacking the minions of a God of Fear who grows stronger through fear while saying "DO I LOOK AFRAID TO YOU!!" And did I mention that these mind controlled minions are the Thing and the Hulk? Yep, this is a gorgeously drawn book and definitely a must read for anyone who thinks an all out brawl between Thor and the Hulk is something they would enjoy. Meanwhile, we get more Immonen drawn action which includes a pissed off Steve Rogers becoming Captain America once more and dramatically parachuting into a war on the streets of New York to lead the New Avengers against Sin and her giant army of Nazi robots. And yep, he yells: "Avengers Assemble!" as he does this. Elsewhere, Tony Stark demands an audience with Odin and determines that only drinking a bottle of booze at the base of the rainbow bridge would show the All-Father just how serious he was. Yep, this is summer blockbuster material and it's best not to spend too much time thinking about it, much better to just sit back and enjoy the ride. And you know what? If you enjoy old-school superhero stories on a grand scale: this issue just turned this "event" up to 11. I had a blast reading this.
