Don’t be fooled, this is a definite continuation of what has come previously in this book, which, in my opinion, along with Saga, is one of the two best books being published currently.
There is character narration, an always palpable sense of forboding and hopelessnes, and even some new developments with new characters being added to the mix in this issue. The pulp writing style might seem confusing at times, but that is only because you’re not used to the linguistic bent yet. Give this book a try (the trade also came out yesterday of the first arc, get it) and you’ll probably agree you won’t find better writing anywhere.
