i picked up fantastic four 554 to try out the feel of this new creative team - i haven't bought or read a fantastic four comic in probably 15 years.

554 was a lot of fun, and i'll keep reading. this book didn't blow me away, but it seems to be setting things up for a potentially fun storyline. the intro, which showed the tail end of a time-traveling vacation gone wrong, really seemed to capture the essence of the FF perfectly. they're just a family trying to go on vacation...except that dad is a super-genius scientist, and everyone has super powers, and so things get messy.

the rest of the book seems to be setting up stories that have potential - sue with her all-girl superhero charity business, reed with another hot scientist, ben with a new girlfriend, and johnny being johnny.

looked good, and has me curious to see where it all will go. nicely done.
