I am absolutely loving this series so far. Jeff Parker is giving a lot
of fun and Espin and Jones have a great handle on the art.
Parker is amazing at bringing fun light heartedness to his action without sacrificing story. Little moments like Jean and Emma talking in the lobby were great or even just Toad grumbling to himself. Each character has a solid center but a unique voice.
I love how he reveals differences between the main characters and other universal incarnations. For instance, the fact that the team Beast is more of a dumb brute instead of a the geneticist he is regularly, so when he's captured here he uses suck as an insult rather than some Victorian era scalliwag or some such, or how his Wanda thinks that her counterpart is kind of slutty.
I think my favorite thing is how this team does its mission and moves on, whether or not the timeline is fixed. It feels a lot more like the Winnick and Austen run. I will say I didn't hate Chuck Awesome's run, and I think it had a lot of really good moments. Claremont's, however, was awful.
The art matches the pacing of the story, word for pen stroke. The faces of the mutants stuck in ice shows that they are having a real blast doing this book.

I agree 100%. Had my heart broken by Claremont’s run and now I’m enjoying Exiles again.
Great review!
I’m enjoying Exiles but found the conclusion less engaging than I expected.
