With no offense meant to Richard Starkings, I read this book for the art.  The story is always interesting, but the ride between issues is often choppy.  Even in trade form, the story feels like a subway ride.  Yes you go from stop to stop, but sometimes it lurches unexpectedly, and you’re occasionally stuck in a tunnel waiting for another train to do…something; something you never even get to see or hear about.  Basically, the writing has been a consistent three for most of the series, with a few issues rising to 4.

The art is almost always a five, never below four.  And this issue is no exception.  Twenty-five pages with twenty-five different artists doing pinups, with the story tacked on over it.  Again, not a bad story, but it’s had to be formulated to explain the constantly shifting art.  And the story succeeds in that goal, but does not surpass it.

Story: 3 - Good
Art: 5 - Excellent
