I don’t see why so many people dislike this book, say what you will about Giffans writing, I personally think he has done a great job with Doom Patrol. I was a big fan of Morrison’s take on it, so much so I though no one could fill the void, especially since many acted like the the events that happen in Morrison’s run never happened or doesn’t matter. Such was the case in Geoff Johns’s “Teen Titians One Year Later”.

What I like about Giffan’s DP is that he does touch base on Morrison plots, such as being back Danny the Street , Crazy Jane, and Rebris (even though that was for a small part). Giffans reintroduces them in a way that seem to fit, rather then as a ploy to try and get more readers. Not only that but Giffan is funny in his writes, with the back and forth with Cliff and Larry. Now so people have been complain about stuff not explained, such as “where’s Bumblebee?” but honestly, I don’t really care. Now granted that may be a problem writing wise, but not nearly enough to damn this book.

Plus the art team of Matthew Clark and Ron Randall has done a great job at capturing the Doom Patrol look and fitting with Giffan’s style.

Now like many, I’m sadden that the Metal Man back up has stopped, but at lest that make this book now only 3 bucks.

Personally, I don’t want this book to end any time soon. Now if they want me to hate this book, just hand it over to Mike Benson, because he’ll give me plenty of reasons to drop this book.
