You know, there’s a reason that so many people make a big deal about Denny O’Neil writing Batman.  This was a fantastic issue with all the concise storytelling and interesting story of a bygone era.  I felt that the creators made an interesting visual choice with this issue by having the flashback resemble the style of the 1960’s Batman comics.  This helped bring a lightheartedness to the story while also helping to separate the two stories.  Nguyen’s art continues to be gorgeous, and I enjoyed his take on the older style.  What really stuck with me from this issue is the way that the story was told through the use of various flashbacks and important scenes.  O’Neil did a nice job parceling out just enough information to keep the reader going while not completely revealing everything.  Overally, I really enjoyed this issue a lot.

Story: 5 - Excellent
