Art and story come together nicely here for a complete reading experience. And as the final chapter in longer story (5 parts) it really paid off - including the nice tie-in to the previous Scarface and the new "Ventriloquist" story arc.
Although he worked in this story, I still find Hush to be an annoying villain and toward the end I was a bit put off by watching Dr. Elliot fight Batman, Nightwing and Robin all to a standstill - seriously, just how tough is this guy supposed to be?!?! But that minor nit-pick aside, the story works well by itself.
Of course, it doesn't work in a lot of ways with what Morrison is doing in Batman, as the timing of this story would have to overlap with Bruce's romance with Jezebel Jet, and when you read it with that mind the romantic moments with Selina become very insincere, so I prefer to ignore the RIP cover dress and treat this as an out-of-current-continuity Batman story. Frankly I have no idea how this story was supposed to be an RIP tie-in anyway (but if the cover dress boosted sales at all, then good for DC!).
So bravo to Paul Dini and Dustin Nguyen for another masterful story!

My take on this is that it occurs just before the current Batman arc…but I could be wrong. Possibly, the 2 months later jump showing Selina reflecting on what she has done to Hush might be a way to fast forward the story up to current continuity
But what do I know..other than the fact that I really enjoyed this book. Good job!
I had the same impression for timing – that the two month gap between the hospital and Selina’s final scene was basically the Black Hand and Batman RIP stories. Which would suggest that Bruce was already dating Jezebel Jet, which doesn’t really work with the Dini story. But that’s a continuity glitch that I choose to ignore.
Who cares about continuity? So Bruce Wayne was bangin Catwoman and Jezebel Jet at the same time, good for him! He’s a billionaire!! I’m surprised he wasn’t banging Oracle too. She would probably just lie there and moan, but so what. I wonder if he gets freaky while he wears his cape & cowl?
