A young Bruce travels to the Himalayas to train under the wing of a Zen Buddhist Monk Warrior named Shihan Matsuda, in which Bruce lives with Matsuda under very strict discipline, Bruce learns a lot from him. Matsuda tells Bruce he needs to stay away from certain emotions in order to guard others as a warrior, but Bruce questions his words and even meets a young Himalayan woman in whom he fancies. In the amazing finale of this story he’ll understand the wisdom of his mentor, and you’ll recognize the Batman we know today. Hurwitz wrote an amazing story with great pacing, and the art was superb! We loved how they captured the beauty of The Himalayas.

Don’t forget to read “The Last Wait” at the end, it shows how Alfred has been holding up during Bruce’s absence, as well as protecting the mansion.

  1. I AGREE AN SUPER GREAT BOOK ALL AROUND LOVED IT

  2. I enjoyed this book, but I have no idea what the “villain” was in this thing. That’s the only thing that really bugged me.
