I can't help but imagine Robert Kirkman, sitting in his office on a chair made of hundred dollar bills, laughing at the idea that he's being paid good money to write these stories. Reading Invincible and Walking Dead, I always find myself thinking "I can't believe Kirkman did that." Where typical comic writers zig, Robert Kirkman zags and that's what makes him one of the best comic writers working today. Destroyer is just plain good and fun, and I don't think you can ask for much more.
In this issue, we find Destroyer racing off to fight Horde to end their organization once and for all. During this battle, there is a two panel sequence that very well might be one of my favorite sequences of all time. Destroyer reluctantly agrees to having a canon mounted to his left arm, which is then removed by the Horde's leader, Krakoom - a giant worm/dragon-thing that looks like it has a vagina on its belly, when he bites his arm and declares that Destroyer is weaponless and harmless. Destroyer clearly disagrees within these two panels. Both Kirkman and Corey Walker eloquently and comically depict this scene with Destroyer disagreeing with Krakoom.
Like the issues that came before this one, the enemy is defeated as quickly and as violently as possible. We catch a glimpse of Destroyer watching while Turret kills Krakoom and is left impressed with his son in law's abilities. What we're left with at the end of the issue is Destroyer admitting regret to his wife about how he handled Turret in the past. Unlike enemies made of flesh and blood, this is one thing Destroyer may not be able to defeat with superhuman strength.
