What a crazy combo of stories! Some humorous, some on the more serious side. Including a Super-Sons tale by the late great Bob Haney! Also love the covers for the fake Silver Age issues. Those should be used as springboards for separate comics themselves.

I was wondering what this was all about. Is it a reprint or something from the past that was unpublished like a lost episode deal? Is it about an alternate earth? Or just something out of continuity? What’s the deal with elseworlds??????????
This was supposed to come out as a regular elseworlds (alternate takes on dc characters) in this case a humorous look at them in the style of the old 80 page giants. This was pulled by dc after being published and all but a small number of copies destroyed, because of a story where baby kal el is put in danger including being microwaved. dc at the time (paul levitz) felt the endangering children angle was too much, though the story was later printed in (and was really the inspiration for) the original bizarro comics hardcover, which was targeted at an older audience. Modern dc (didio and lee) dont seem to have as much of a problem endangering invulnerable infants.
