This was an all around annoying read: from using Kate Bush song titles to describe the different characters in the story to the thoroughly confusing dialog.  The plot is interesting, but the execution is kind of a let down.  I get that most of the characters in this book have powers that lend themselves to confusion: Mystique, Nate Grey, and the former Collective, but I think these characters should focus their powers more on each other and less on the reader.

Kirk’s lines are thick, and his facial expressions are often hard to read.  So, in some ways it’s a good thematic representation of Cornell’s writing.
