I love that comics still surprise me.

Dark Reign: Mr Negative could easily have been three issues of fluff (as I expected it was going to be), it would have been entertaining, but not add much to one of Spider-man’s more interesting new villians.

Instead issue 3 delivered the goods. We got a few twists in tale, an origin that ties into the origin of some other Marvel heroes, and a reveal about his secret identity that I did not see coming.

I don’t know how these elements will play out in the main book, but if you’re a Mr. Negative fan, this might be essential reading for the coming months as I hope to see this story picked up by one of the Webheads and continued in greater detail.
