So yeah, I think Ennis has lost a lot of steam on this book.

It isn't that the "quality" has gone down. It's still the same level of writing it started as, but there just doesn't seem to be as many instances of fuck that's awful in new and inventive ways.

The beach scene this issue was pretty bad, but it was nothing compared to the highway.

Hell, the cover was more gruesome than anything that actually happened here.

And I am sure it was intentional, but the old man, Geoff, reminded me a lot of Mr. Rogers, which would exlplain why he revealed what he revealed this issue.

The art is the best that Avatar has ever put out so it falls aobut in the middle of the overall quality spectrum
