I’ve refrained from writing or even talking about House of M Civil War because I couldn’t–and still cannot–believe that a book that takes the titles of two giant cross overs and puts them together in one title could actually be good. Besides that, it’s an X-men mini-series that focuses on a different reality. One only need to look back to Weapon X: Days of Future Past to show how low these books can sink.

However, I have found HoMCW to be enjoyable every month and what’s more is that I look forward to it. The story is well thoughtout with attention to both detail and character. DiVito’s artwork does not knock your socks off but it is solid and clean.

This issue has a lot of Charles Xavier in which makes for a great plot. I, like many X-Fans, just can’t get enough of the Xavier/Magneto dynamic when done right and Gage does it right. It’s a great read that isn’t bogged down in continuity. It’s ELSEWORLDS for the Marvel U…but it’s…you know…good.

Story: 4 - Very Good
Art: 4 - Very Good
