This would have been a fantastic #1 issue.  Not that the actual first issue was bad, but this one was so much better.  The premise seems much less rote, and the characters seemed crisper.  Rather than the insinuation of a cool story, we get to the heart of the action.

I understand the desire to set a mood, but with Templesmith’s art, you don’t really need to write anything to establish mood, his pencils and colors speak for themselves.

If issue one left you on the fence about this series, I highly reccomend picking this issue up.  It wins the most improved comic of the week award.  Awaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaard.

Story: 4 - Very Good
Art: 5 - Excellent

  1. I really had trouble with this book.  Maybe it’s me, the art is so challenging maybe I’m not up for it…I was a big fan of FELL but this book has been much harder for me to figure out.

  2. @Urthona: Templesmith’s art seems to be pretty devisive among the customers I’ve talked to.  I love the color smudge technique, but I get how it’s not for everyone.<br>

I wonder how well the comic would do if it was just black and white, as Templesmith’s pencils look completely different (and, actually, awesomer) without the colors.

  3. It still hasn’t turned up here. Seems there were some problems with the order. Thought it might make it in last week, but still no.
