And this is how you do a cosmic event!

I don’t have a whole lot of stake in the characters involved here. I haven’t followed Hercules much at all, other than the things that led up to this (the previous God Squad stuff) and the fall and rebirth of him. I’ve only known Amadeus Cho through his own mini and a few things here and there, but holy crap I just love the characterization that Pak is throwing around in here.

Mixing situations that go beyond hectic, creating a villain that actually for once seems unbeatable (I mean c’mon the pages upon pages of Chaos in this issue should just had me pumping my fist for his own success), and still retaining humor throughout (Cho/Thor interaction better be panel of the week).

This is just a load of fun, the true feeling of what this whole Heroic Age rebirth should feel like. I’m loving this event so far (even though it’s ANOTHER book with Hellstrom), and I only expect it to explode even more as it goes on.

Total popcorn, Michael Bay esque book, explosions, fights, quips, everything a man wants – and it’s all done really well.

And Van Lente killed it this issue.
