This is more of a commentary on issues #1-12 than a review of a singular issue.
I would have never imagined that Catwoman and Wonder Woman would have been at the top of my stack for the past year. To me, Catwoman is exactly what I want in a comic book:
*Solid traditional character with the addition of new, interesting support ones.
*Fantastic artwork by March and nice fill in work by Melo. Catwoman’s facials were especially strong.
*A perfectly assembled storyline. A plot that held together with a focus on a variety of elements combined with a few one shots. I appreciated not having to think too hard to understand the story or having to go back and re-read earlier books for clarity.
*Cliffhangers that made sense and truly created excitement with the reader for the next issue.
*Appropriate usage of The Batman and his rogues.
Unfortunately, the long term pay off to this delightful experience is a new artist and writer. The writer, in the iFanboy interview, casually tosses aside any interest in maintaining this fantastic work to pursue a fresh start seemingly nobody else wants.
I guess this is more of an obituary than a commentary. Thank you Judd Winnick and Guillem March! To the new team, good luck in your future endeavors.

Well said, dkb! I totally agree. I don’t know why Winnick gets such a bad rap–in general, his titles have always seemed to me to be good, engaging comics, and I thought he nailed this one. I’m not going to dismiss Nocenti without giving her treatment a chance but, yeah, her track record and that interview are trouble portents.
