  1. I don’t agree completely.

I think the book is going very well, this was my pick of the week for that week.  I am loving this book.

As far as seeing what happens when a different person has the symbiote, I think we have several examples of that, with the symbiotes that have spawned from Venom and Carnage in the past.  Obviously, Carnage is an exceptional example of a symbiote, since he is able to overpower the will of so many people, but Cletus Kasady is Carnage.

I am loving the inclusion of Iron Man in this book.  The idea that Spiderman and Iron Man are having a tough time putting down Carnage is awesome, and a testament to how great a character he is.

I think your point that Cletus Kasady is a ‘non-functional psychotic’ is an excellent point and illustrates my point that he is one of those charachters, that will never go away, and shouldn’t, in comics.  He is pretty much essential, because if he isn’t being held, it is priority one for the heros to find and stop him.  He is an automatic storyline.

As far as how he survived, I mean, really, it’s a ‘comic book miracle.’  I mean, how did Superman come back to life?  How did they really stop Galactus?   Do you really have to ask that question?  You either accept their explaination or you don’t and don’t read the book.  It’s a valid point, but why spend so much time with it?

And finally, if you think that they should have gone a different direction with the story totally, well, you should submit your resume to Marvel comics as a writer.  I say that with all honesty, because I think you do present some good story ideas, but I think those ideas are not exactly within the scope of the review of this book.  Simply, “They could have, and should have, gone in a completely different direction with this story,” would have been enough to say.

I would have given this book a rating of: Story-4 and Art-5.  And really a 4.5 on story, but they don’t let us use .5s.

Overall, I give your review a 3 out of 5.  Good effort, and you show a LOT of knowledge, but I think you went off topic a lot. Not one of your best reviews, but not bad at all.
