There’s something pleasingly nostalgic about this book as Jurgens revisits Booster Gold’s first encounter with Doomsday, this time in the Flashpoint version of the DCU. Booster definitely came off the worst in the original encounter (he had the whole JLA with him at the time) and the memory of that battle certainly informs the sense of trepidation and courage evident in this story.
Art duties are shared between Jurgens and Ig Guara, and the switchover is not particularly subtle, with a more angular and armoured looking Booster Gold emerging in the second half of the book.
It will be interesting to see how the final chapter of this title ties into the greater Flashpoint story.
