I won’t flatter myself by trying to write a review that delves into what I believe is the soul of Scott Snyder’s latest amazingly creepy issue of DC. Instead I offer an observation about a run that will no doubt be talked about for years to come.

Am I the only reader out there who is starting to think Jim Gordon is the most interesting character in Detective right now. Don’t get me wrong I love Batman, and Snyder does a fantastic job of showing us the differences Dick’s Batman has to his mentor’s original. I am just starting to look forward to seeing poor Jim trying to cope with what the world has given him. He is certainly at a crossroad in his life. Not that he has not seen his share of horrors personal, and professional.

I offer this observation with the hope that the DC creative, and marketing teams will see fit in the not too distant future to give Scott Snyder a shot a running a long Jim Gordon centered series. I’m not saying we can’t have Bats running around helping out where he can, I’m just think maybe we should take sometime to appreciate the diverse character that is Jim Gordon………
