I have enjoyed Captain America and Bucky from issue one. I very much enjoyed Chris Samnee’s run on the book as he is one of my new favorite artists. His art gave the book a vintage feel to me, which made reading it all the more worth while. While I was sad to see him go, I was very excited to see Francesco Francavilla was going to come on the book. He is also one of my new favorite artists to come on the scene (ever since his Detective Comics run with Scott Snyder) and I have been waiting for what seems like forever for his first issue of Cap and Bucky to come out. That being said, I thought this issue was very well written and fantastically drawn, but something felt off throughout it. I don’t want to spoil anything about the book, but the story felt strange, maybe because this is the first issue of the new series in which Bucky was not the main character of the story. I felt the cliffhanger was predictible, but the issue accomplished its goal of telling a good story and making me want to read the next issue next month.

In the end, while the story felt off to me, it was still well written and Francavilla’s art was beautiful!

Story: 4 - Very Good
Art: 5 - Excellent
