I strongly feel that this is the best crime comic (definitely not the least bit noir) that nobody is reading.  During the first issue, I compared it to Pulp Fiction, as it followed a few different groups of characters and was heavy with intriguing dialog.

While the Tarantino dialog is still there, all the characters were tied in during the second issue, so there’s no more curiosity about how they’re going to overlap, there’s just solid storytelling.

The art is surprisingly bright for a crime story.  Kind of like CSI Miami is bright for a crime show.  That’s the only parallel with that show, though, I promise.

At least in our stores, it’s going to be tough to track down the first couple of issues, but I highly recommend ordering this trade if you’re a fan of crime comics (not noir, crime).

Story: 5 - Excellent

  1. Thanks for pointing that out.  This is the third time one of my reviews and has been used on covers, and I never know until someone points it out to me.  Again, thank you.
