Recently I read issues 1-12 in one sitting.  It was a grand task, but I enjoyed it all the way.  If you were even a little fan of Buffy, I don’t see why you shouldn’t be reading this book.  It’s fun and continues where the last season left off.  So stop complaining about how there is no more Buffy  on TV and start reading this book.

First off the best part of this book was the dialog between Dracula and Xander.  I have sadly never seen the episode where Rudolf Martin played Dracula, but thoroughly enjoyed him as Vlad the Impaler in the TV movie Dark Prince: The True Story of Dracula.  If the entire issue could have been this witty banter I would have been easily just as satisfied.

This issue also showed a pretty significant event happens.  Something that will be a big problem for Buffy and her army of Slayers.  The other team has a weapon of almost epic proportions and it looks like they are not afraid to use it.  I really hope the next issue we see how exactly it works.

The art work and coloring in this book have been pretty good.  I know some people really don’t like Georges Jeanty, but I think he manages to walk the fine line of making the characters look like the actors fairly well.  I both reminds me of who they are, but also makes it feel new in some way.

Overall I’m glad the NY Times spilled the beans about last issue.  It got me incredibly interested in the book to see how that event could develop.  Even though I’m still not entirely sure how it happened, I’m glad I went back and got the issues.  This book to me is fun and with how a lot of comics seem to be going lately, I can always use a fun one.
