I know a lot of you don’t read Booster Gold. Half of you don’t even LIKE Booster Gold. I can only say you don’t know what you’re missing. This issue, while a Blackest Night tie-in shows us exactly why Booster Gold is a great series. Is it because of Jurgens writing and amazing art? Possible. Is it because, while Ted Kord is long dead, still plays a major role in his best friend’s life? Maybe. Is it the complexity of a superhero who everyone dismisses but still finds it within himself to do what needs to be done? Hell yes!

This is a book that really examines what it is to be a hero. You may not be the biggest name. Everyone may think you’re a joke. And you may not always get what you want. But despite all of that, you do what has to be done.

  1. Agree

Booster Gold may very well be the best hero comic DC is offering right now. Booster’s path has made him evolve and right now his humanity defines him.

So many DCU heroes all have pretty much the same voice. BG stands apart on many levels.

I never cared much for Dan Jurgens scripting in the past on other books. He is however IMO THE Booster Gold writer, period.

  2. Who doesn’t like Booster Gold?

I love the character, but I am not up on DC continuity to try to follow this book.

  3. Thanks for the heads up.  I’ll check this out.
