when the new 52 started, i tried out something like 7 titles. pretty quick i was down to two. and now it’s one.

what i liked about the early blue beetle issues was that they were just simple, fast paced super-hero stories. there was nothing spectacular going on but i enjoyed the concept and was introduced regularly to new villains and problems to keep the thing interesting.

but now that the story tries to slow down, the awful writing becomes really apparent. i feel like i have no idea where this is supposed to be going and i also really lost interest in it. but even worse, it seems as if all the threats from earlier issues have just been completely forgotten.

the art went also very much downhill from the beginning and feels now (especially in the dialogue scenes) just uninspired and sloppy.

i think blue beetle had a lot of potential, the concept was simple but engaging and i would hope that the title gets better but especially with the crossover coming up (which personally doesn’t interest me) the book will have to go on without me.

so only one dc book left. flash, you are my last hope for the dcu 😉
