I came into this issue with a few concerns about it being in Spanish. I have never taken Spanish, and can understand very little. Fortunately, this issue put those concerns to rest. Nitz uses his one issue to explore Jaime's extended family, and Traci's introduction to them. This issue really helps add more layers to Jaime, especially the scenes with him and his grandmother. The Parasite is worked in to the story in a logical way, and his use of Spanish fits as well. The fight is the least important part of the story though, it is the relationships that make this issue stand out.

The art really helped carry the story. Even if DC had not put the English script in the back, I would have been able to follow along with the story based solely on the art. Norton is great here, and gives the reader a real grasp of the story.

Usually a fill in issue is pretty meaningless. Both Nitz and Norton rise above that stereotype here, and give us a wonderful look at the Blue Beetle and his family.
