I was worried this was going to suffer some loss in storytelling, especially with the event growing in number of titles but declining in plot advancement. Damn, was I glad I was wrong!

Blackest Night # 5 does what an event of this type should do. It suprises, it shocks, it gives you great character moments, and it leaves you wanting more.

I must admit I didn’t see the ending coming, but when it happened it was the ultimate “Oh S#%&” moment. I can’t wait to see where Johns is going with this.
