Okay I’ll admit it, I didn’t hate the last issue. I didn’t find it to
be an accursed blight on all of the world that is comics. I didn’t
think that Hudlin was Satan sent to ruin the medium I love. That was
last issue.

This issue Hudlin had T’Challa talk again and I remembered
why I enjoyed Priest’s run and think that Hudlin skins babies in his
basement.

When it was all intrigue and reaction to an sneak attack,
there wasn’t a lot of monologues and there wasn’t diabetes inducing
moments between Storm and her “boo” or what have you.

Honestly the lack
of BP in this book took out the soap box that Hudlin would shout from
and helped the characters develop on their own. What does it say about
a writer that his weakest character is his main one?

Some how having BP
back in this book made every other character weaker, not just in
relations to him, bu tall around. The security gaurd went from strong
to inept. Same with the mom and the sister. It’s like the only way that Hudlin can write him strong is to
take strength from other characters.

The art was adequate.

  1. So what’s going on with this book, anyway?  Who was the lady Black Panther?  Is T’Challa back?

I keep seeing promos for this book but no actual conversation about it.

  2. Spoilers for the series up to this point. Don’t read on if you don’t want to

Okay, before this series started T’Challa went to have a meeting with Doom and obviously was betrayed by him and put into a coma. Wakanda needs a defender so they pretty much immediately set in mostion things to get his sister the BP while the queen mother and Storm go off to some african shaman to find a way to send Ororo into the spirit realm and save T’Challa. Of course this means storm has to sacrifice herself so that T’Challa can come back. Plus the JMS villain Morlun is attacking and killed an old BP villain

This issue set it up so that all T’challa has to do is defeat death and then he’s back.

And anything that sounds good about it is washed away in the dialog which a retarded 3rd grader could make more believable.

  3. So  the sister was the lady in the Panther suit??

  4. thats right. This book is not so good atm. Its definately gotten better in the last issue but that aint saying much. This whole arc could have been at least 1 if not 2 issues shorter. It has been really tiresome. I like Ken Lashley’s art but Hudlin has yet to get to grips with how to write a comic.
