What a disappointment. The first three issues of this series were so great. The story and the art complemented each other so well, but sadly this issue does NOT continue that short lived tradition.

Chriscross’s art in Batwing #4 is wildly inconsistent, with body proportions thrown WAY out of whack in a large number of frames, while the facial structures of main characters seem to completely change from one page to another. Moreover, the color choices made for this issue come off as uninspired and dated.

The writing, which I have enjoyed in the past, completely dropped off in this issue. At this point in the series, I don’t think that we even needed to know the origin of David and as a result, the whole issue just felt like filler.

Overall, this book added nothing to the series. I truly hope that the next issue can bring us back to the awesomeness that I know Batwing is capable of.
