When I was 6, my dad and I were ina K-Mart in Minneapolis, and the MEGO super-hero dolls (they weren’t called action figures in 1976) were in the toy department. He let me pick out two to go along with my comics I had in my hand as well. I got Aquaman (duh. best costume ever) and Batgirl. “Don’t you want Batman?” asked my dad. The gay diva in me gasped! “What? No. I want her!” Maybe it was the red hair. Maybe the utility belt/purse. Maybe the thigh-high yellow boots with stiletto heel. Maybe all three. I don’t know. Thus began my love affair with Batgirl. I followed her everywhere: BAtman Family, Detective, even that awful Killing Joke.

Needless to say, I just loved this issue. It was fun. It was just.damn.fun! Great art, GREAT dialogue. And that ending? Talk about hilarious. I am so on board. Would love to see Fabian and Kevin on a monthly book. They looked like they were enjoying it as much as the readers.
