I’m not sure if it’s a coloring issue, but I don’t love Capullo’s art as much as I have on previous issues. There are some odd perspective shots, and a few pages that should look amazing, but instead manage to look average.

Snyder’s writing, however, continues to pull me along with his Owlifesto. It seems a bit early in The New 52 to say that everything changes with this issue, but the events of this issue insinuate a large change in the status quo for the bat books. I’m excited to see where it leads.

Story: 4 - Very Good
Art: 3 - Good

  1. Just from the preview pages, I must say I agree. I’m sure his art will pick up again. I know he really injured himself and just now has been recovering, so that could have something to do with it.

    • I wasn’t aware he’d injured himself (I tend not to follow creators, just their books). I hope he heals up quickly, and not just because I selfishly look forward to his art.
