What can we beat but never defeat? the Morrison debate?

No… but I think its Heart. I feel like I get most of this issue but not all of it. The reason the Professor kills himself is because he couldn’t handle the Maybe machine and it broke him. In the first story when they leave he already knows what his fate will be but cannot let the Joker win. He regrets not standing up to the Joker and creating a machine he wasn’t ready to protect. Batman inspires him to have heart and be strong enough to save Batman. At least that is how I see it.

I also like how the first story had a nostalgic feel to it while the present story was all too familiar lately and the future story and fuuuture story were a nice surprise. It’s not perfect but its damn good!

Too another 700 issues!!! oh and New Years Eve is now officially Batman Day in my book.
