I’m still a little surprised that, of all the titles that spun out of Batman Reborn, this is the best one.  Miller’s take on Grayson Batman’s relations with the other members of the Batfamily is by far the most intriguing.  His dialog is masterful, and he does a near flawless job of weaving it through the action.  Batgirl reads like a five star action flick.  And any writer who can make Stephanie Brown more intriguing than annoying deserves some sort of award.

Kudos should also go to Trevor Scott for being the only artist besides Frank Quitely to actually draw Damian as a little boy instead of a teenager.

  1. Agreed, this is a great book. It’s the lady bats who are kicking the most ass these days. ‘Bout time too.

  2. I’ve loved everything till this issue.  It struck me as a little kiddish.  That part with Barbara asking Dick to leave her to mentoring Stephanie was pretty awesome though.

  3. @vadamowens: I agree on the kiddishness, but, for me that didn’t take anything away from this book.  I mean, they are still mostly kids.

  4. lol. honestly enough, I don’t really think that occured to me until you just said it.  Sometimes I think I’m just too hard on shit that I would normally enjoy.

  5. @vadamowens: That tends to happen with me, too.  So I try and step back every once in a while, and go, "Oh yea, comics…sometimes for kids."
