I’m still somewhat enjoying this series so far.  Issue #4 is a step up from #3 for sure.  I can’t help but feeling as if the new Batgirl series might actually be aimed at a more younger crowd though.  There is a crippled girl who seems to have ties to Teen Titans in it.  I’m not sure if she was actually a member of the team or not because I don’t read Teen Titans.  I’m not a teen.  I’m almost 30.

Not only that but Stephanie Brown is barely a day over 18.  That kind of discourages me a bit as well.  I feel like an idiot for having a kid’s book in my hand like I’m going to start buying Scooby Doo comics next week.  I just can’t shake it.

On the other hand though, Oracle is just as much a star of this series as Stephanie is.  Too bad Cassandra Cain doesn’t make regular appearances as well, then the title would truly live up to its name.

Basically #4 is about Stephanie’s first night out in her new uniform.  There just so happens to be a blackout in Gotham City too.  Some stuff happens.  Nothing special.  Some parts where they try to be funny but I didn’t laugh much.  I enjoyed it for some reason though.  It is just…

What is the word I’m looking for here…?  Fresh.

Story: 3 - Good

  1. It’s true.  Comics with ‘girl’ in the title have cooties.  You should drop it immediately.

  2. I’ll prolly drop Outsiders or Red Robin before I drop this.

As for the cooties, I stopped being afraid of those when Wig Wams were still in style so I should be alright…
