Well, this ended up a whole hell of a lot stronger than the rest of the
series.

I think it was because the songs, which always felt like filler
for me was finally put to the background over actually important
scenes.

This book gave a truly noir ending to the book with all the
double crosses and gun violence.

My biggest problem with this series
was the art. The scene with the trumpet player didn’t look like
anything happened to him. He just had thicker lips, which, honestly,
could have just been the design of the character. I had to look at the
older issues to see the difference.

The coloring wasn’t that good either. The blood looked cherry red and
ridiculous.

Kelly has been given a lot of praise lately for his creator
owned stuff and Spiderman work. I’ve felt this book was the weakest
thing he has been doing lately. This ending did a lot to alleviate it.
