This was a great comic for mood and atmosphere. The art by Ben Stenbeck complimented the writing of Mike Mignola and Christopher Golden. It’s a pretty straight forward little vampire story but the WWI period and alternate history keep this from falling into vampire cliche in a vampire saturated market. The only problem I had with this comic is that it is so atmospheric that I had a hard time really connecting with the characters. But this is only a first issue and it is a hell of a ride. So I figure all y’all should at least give this book a gander, and a serious consider. I know it’s not Hellboy or BPRD, but this is still a ride that’s worth taking.
