This issue felt incredibly short and a little bit of a cop out.

I know that Ennis likes to twist the knife with some major reveal when he’s doing stories that he finds disturbing, but this one kind of felt like “Yeah, so?” I mean, especially since there needed to be some sort of way to get the childhood love interest into a position to be the real love interest, this seemed the most logical, but also the most bland way to go. I did like that he shot the bitch in the face.

The crux of the turn on the family is nothing to fuck around with, and her attitude about it, proved she needed to be put down like a dog.

The art was decent but a little too soft and curvy, like a balloon animal dipped in oil or some such. The last fight was pretty brutal. I question whether or not you could cut through fingers that easily with that kind of knife. It worked for the most part though.

Overall, it was just about as good as the old Ennis mini, Pride & Joy.
