With this being Zeb Wells last issue of Avenging Spider-man, he did really well. With his absence from the last couple issues he’s like a guy on the bench of a sports team, and the coach finally puts him in and he scores the game winning goal.

The fact that Spidey is “teaming up” with Aunt May, don’t expect a lot of action. Instead it’s a tribute to Aunt May and Uncle Ben and how they both have help turned Peter into the man he is today. It is a very emotional issue with not a lot of funny moments, or even any Spidey zingers during or after catching an enemy.

p.s. On the bright side of losing Zeb Wells, we get the debut of another Robot Chicken writer in the next isssue, which also involves Deadpool, so everyone really needs to pick that one up.

If you are looking for a really funny issue, give one of Zebs earlier issues a shot, but for an emotional and yet very insightful, deeper understanding of Peter’s realationship with Uncle Ben and Aunt May, give it a shot, you won’t be disappointed.

  1. If steve Dillon is drawing the next one, I am out. I left the 90s behind, they should too 🙁

    • Issue #12 will be written by Kevin Shinick and art will be done by Aaron Kuder. The cover for #12 looks really good to me, and according to Wikipedia he’s also doing the covers for Batman #13 and Batman Incorporated #0.
