Ok I don't have alot fo time to do reviews this week so lets keep this simple since everyone and their mother will review it and we will jump into the actual book itself. The cover is the best yet for the event even though the logo is still "meh" for me. Having brubaker write this issue really helps, Though because of all the wolverine stuff, I really thought Aaron would have been better on this particular issue though Brubaker is always tops with Cap and is really good with Logan. The story itself is still dumb superhero-ing (which I have no problem with) but for the first time in the series we get some serious moments that I actually felt were well done, I attribute this to Brubaker being....well himself. The inside art on the other hand is stil John Romita Jr. and while I liked it more than I normally do I wasn't crazy for it, though I did love the way he drew Dr. Strange. My problem with Romita is just the almost 50/50 realistic/cartoony style he has, its just not for me (with me liking more stylstic approaches over anything). and now for something I've never done before FANBOY QUIBBLES THAT DON'T ACTUALLY MATTER BUT ANNOYED ME SLIGHTLY -Wolverine is quite out of character with the whole "IMMA KILL HER" thing which has been done far too many times before and is at odds with the recent more loving wolverine that we have seen, it reminds me too much of Childrens Crusade Wolvie and thats not a good thing -RACHEL?....really?....thats who betays wolverine.....well...thats out of nowhere In Short: this is easily the strongest book in the event so far, I'm happy with it, but not overjoyed, I can look over the fanboy problems I have and see the book for the solid issue it is. While the art is not my style its alright and brubakers brew is always quite strong but satisfying.
