If you don't like Avengers Academy, you are probably a jerk. You probably hate Christmas. You probably think that cats are way better than dogs. You probably drink diet soda because you think it actually tastes better. You're probably ugly. Your favorite sport is most likely sailing. You almost definitely hate yourself. And you should. This wasn't the best issue by any means, but I can't think of (m)any other Marvel books that have been so consistently focused on one (relatively) unchanging group of characters and their singular story for so long. After emerging more or less unscathed from a 948 issue long Fear Itself tie-in arc, this book has, for whatever reason, decided to introduce about 12 new characters in the past few issues. I thought this was a little questionable at first, but the sheer volume of new faces is a bit less overwhelming with each passing issue. This issue really bring the focus back to the original cast, and the reveal-y/cliffhanger-y bit at the end is a great example of how good this book is at being all over the place while still staying true to the story it's been telling from the beginning. Or, to put it more plainly, a dinosaur fights a purple alien with a giant head.
