As with most new titles we get a few origins of the new characters.  Gage choses not to give every character a flashback origin, which is good.  This issue is essential the first couple of days of class.  Each student has very unique powers and as revealed in the issue was experimented on by Osborn way past the levels of MAX comics.  The teachers are also a great group of messed up characters.  Justice being the most level headed.  As a fan of New Warriors, this title will be high on my pull lists.  As for the art Mike McKone doesn't go for huge wow stuff as he is clearly establishing new characters.  This title feels like an anti-Liefeld era X-force, which is a good thing for this new era.
