Written by Brian Michael Bendis
Art and cover by John Romita Jr.

Size: pages
Price: 3.99

Another fun little jaunt between talking heads, interspliced with some gorgeous actions shots with the Red Hook and Rulk. Bendis, as always, comes up with the best jabs between opposing characters (Iron Man/Namor) and sets up lots of intrigue with what’s to come next. This book is still firing on all writing cynliders. As for the art, I’m totally convinced that JRJR should never draw Maria Hill or Spider-Woman again. Just have another artist do those characers for him and jam them together ala Image United. Excelsior!

Story: 5 - Excellent
Art: 4 - Very Good

  1. i just can’t like this book i try to so much and every issue rubs me the worng way. the art is HORRIBLE and I love JRJR from spiderman and x-men of years past. the writing is SO 2nd gear there is not threat no danger to anything. And again what do we get? Expository dialogue and nauseatingly forced banter. what is this superhero stand-up?

  2. @nightwalker  I have been struggling with how to describe my distaste for the dialogue.  It’s “forced banter” featuring dialogue inconsistent with the character.  Spider Woman does not make snarky remarks.  She would never say “wakey wakey”.
