After the first issue, I was still on the fence about his new Avengers series, especially with at least 3 other Avengers books out there and two of them also written by BMB. The whole Next Avengers crossover felt like a gimmick. With this issue however, things finally start get rolling and the plot (albeit thin as it is) develops. I really enjoyed the progression of the story and BMB truly knows how to write dialogue. Overall, this is book is just plain ol’ fun. Comic book heroes being comic book heroes. I do miss the gravitas and story of the early issues of the previous New Avengers series, but I think there will be plenty of that with the new New Avengers and Secret Avengers lines.
I might be biased, but JRJR’s art still doesnt really suit the Avengers as a whole. His layouts and art do get the job done.

Story: 3 - Good
Art: 2 - Average
