Whenever Hickman is writing kids or adults having to interact with kids, it seems to bring something out in him. This issue works because it’s all about how each member of the team deals with having to instill values in a race of godly super-children. There are some great Thor-Hyperion scenes in here, and some terrific Jessica-Clint moments. The Superior Spider-Man stuff is weird. Can’t imagine how poorly that’s gonna read in trades years from now. But that’s a minor quibble. Something about all the character interactions and the cliffhanger ending made this feel downright Claremontian in a very good way. This is also the second Savage Land story (after Wolverine and the X-Men) in under six months to make me actually care about a Savage Land story, which almost never happens. Kudos, Hickman, Spencer, and Deodato. Also, what’s up with Nick Spencer’s cocredit?

    1. I don’t know how the work is divided, but I think Nick Spencer is at least scripting while Hickman focuses on masterminding the Infinity event.
