On a week where the spotlight is focused on the big DC Relaunch, it’s easy to overlook just about everything else on the stands, especially books from smaller publishers. Still, despite how much I enjoyed my DC Relaunch titles, as well as all the other titles I picked up this week, I knew that Atomic Robo: Ghost of Station X #1 was my pick the moment I put it down. Creators Brian Clevinger and Scott Wegener never disappoint on this title and this issue is no different.

This is an issue jam packed with humor and excitement as we find our hero, Atomic Robo and the Tesladyne action scientists working to save a group of stranded astronauts within a 7 hour time limit. Newcomers will really get a good taste for what they can expect from this series, while long time fans will get what they came for and more as Clevinger fits in some great callbacks to this story. Even more impressive is just how perfectly artist Scott Wegener’s art fits Clevinger’s story. This is a comic book creative dream team.
It’s a real shame that this book doesn’t get more attention, because it’s easily one of the best funny books out there. If you’ve got an itch for goofy, exciting adventure comics, then Atomic Robo is just what you need, but don’t take my word for it!

Story: 5 - Excellent
