Atomic Robo is essentially a light hearted Hellboy skewed more to sci-fi than the supernatural. This new volume is essentially a non-stop action comic. This time, Atomic Robo dukes it out with a bunch of Nazis. And that’s pretty much it. But the action is really well constructed and the storytelling is clean and crisp. It’s a good, fun action romp without much meat to the story as of yet. I don’t know if the story will get more weighty or not. And I’m not sure if it even needs to.

Fun Action.

Solid Art.

Robot Vs. Nazis.

I’m in for issue 2

Story: 3 - Good
Art: 4 - Very Good

  1. Somewhere midway through the last mini, this book went from really fun and snarky to the straight-up action comic that Doctor Colossus mentions above.  For me, this meant a swift dropping of the title.  Sad, really, because I was really enjoying it until then.

  2. I appreciate the freshness of this book.  It is lighthearted  and after reading many titles that seemed so heavily burdened with continuity, complex storylines, and the such, I appreciate this book even more.
