Man, remember when Astro city was the classic superhero book with modern sensibilities? When
it was the only book that WASN’T dark and grim and gritty?

I understand
that Busiek is going through a 70’s and 80’s deconstruction lately in this
book and his sequel to Marvels, but all the awe and wonder that made
this book distinct, unique and damn good is gone now. Now it’s just
another creator owned superhero book that doesn’t really offer anything
different.

I hate to say that. I’ve been reading this book since the
1/2 issue. And that issue is my second favorite comic book of all time.

Anderson is still doing a very solid job on the book, though I think
some of the face looked weird, and I didn’t like the design for the
S.H.I.E.L.D. stand in. I’ve been a huge fan of this book for a long
time so I’m willing to stick it out for this series, but I really hope
it gets back into the feel it had before, or I might just drop what
used to be one of my favorite titles
