This does a good job of filling in what amounts to back story/history of the eternal struggle between Rot, Red and Green. We get to see the current promise of the Animal Man/Swamp Thing Team Up vs. The Rot played out at the end of the 19th century. No real surprises or a-ha moments here...just quality narrative with the great pacing. As for art, I much prefer Travel Foreman. The Annual's art felt too shallow (re: not much background depth), but the coloring was spot on. The superhero holocaust premonition panel at the bottom of page 25 is a real stunner--took me by surprise, and instantly had my mind racing about the potential fallout of the Red/Green/Rot WAR.
